Peace through Shared Resources

Peace through Shared Resources

Recognizing that competition over land and water often drives conflict, SDC promotes cooperative resource management as a tool for peace. By facilitating dialogue, mediation, and joint community initiatives, the Centre transforms competition into collaboration and helps build the foundations for shared prosperity and stability.

Building Trust, Healing Divisions, Strengthening Communities

We promote dialogue, reconciliation, and inclusive governance as the foundation for lasting peace and durable stability in Somalia.

Addressing Root Causes of Conflict: We facilitate open dialogue that tackles the underlying drivers of conflict, such as resource competition, political exclusion, and governance challenges. By engaging diverse groups, we build bridges instead of barriers.

Strengthening Trust Between Communities and Institutions: Through forums and joint initiatives, we foster trust and cooperation between citizens and institutions, enabling responsive governance and reducing civic divisions.

Supporting Reconciliation and Mediation: We provide spaces for reconciliation, community mediation, and inclusive governance initiatives. These efforts help repair fractured relationships and establish pathways toward durable, grassroots peace.

Inclusive Peace Processes: Women and youth are vital contributors to peace. We ensure their active participation in dialogue, negotiations, and peacebuilding platforms, empowering them as leaders of cohesion.
