The Somali Dialogue Center (SDC) is a social movement organization dedicated to fostering trust and meaningful dialogue among politicians, political parties, civil society, and citizens. We work to bridge the gap between people and their leaders—bringing citizens closer to their representatives and encouraging collaboration across political and social divides.
At SDC, we believe that lasting change begins with dialogue, awareness, and inclusive partnerships that confront the root causes of instability and strengthen community resilience. Moving beyond traditional security approaches, our work focuses on development-driven solutions that build trust, amplify citizens’ voices, and create sustainable opportunities for shared progress.
As a bridge between people and power—connecting government institutions, communities, and the private sector—SDC promotes participatory problem-solving and transformative action. Our mission is to help Somalia move from division to dialogue, from fragility to resilience, and from short-term response to lasting peace and prosperity for generations to come.
The Somali Dialogue Centre (SDC) advances peace, resilience, and sustainable development through eleven interconnected areas of work that strengthen Somalia’s social fabric, governance systems, and community capacity to respond to emerging challenges. Each theme reflects SDC’s belief that dialogue, collaboration, and citizen engagement are the foundation of lasting transformation
